Suits LA Season 1 Review
‘Suits LA’ Is a New Incarnation of the Legal Dramedy Series Cut from Familiar Cloth. Switching its venue to the showbiz-heavy waters of entertainment law in the City of Angels, the new series sometimes feels like a poor copy of the original. Premiering on NBC on Sunday, February 23rd (with new episodes releasing weekly), ‘Suits LA’ looks to dip us back into the fraught legal waters first charted by the original series that began in 2011, albeit in a new city and with fresh characters.
While ‘Suits’ fans will likely welcome the chance to see the bend of drama and comedy back on their screens, the biggest question for the new show to answer will be whether it can live up to the swagger of Harvey Specter and co.
Season 1 Episodes
1. Seven Days a Week and Twice on Sunday
Attorney Ted Black and partner Stuart Lane are about to merge with a firm run by Ted's ex. Associates Rick and Erica vie for positions in the firm, but when the merger hits a snag, Ted, a former prosecutor, must step into a role he holds in contempt.
2. Old Man Hanrahan
Ted needs Amanda's help with a new prosecutor in Lester's murder trial. Erica squares off against Rick to stop him from poaching a client. Stuart and Samantha argue over Rick's position.
3. He Knew
Ted and Kevin deal with a bombshell about Lester's motive for killing his producing partner. Erica and Leah try to fulfill an unorthodox request for a celebrity client. In the past, Ted drags his old friend Stuart into his mob case.
4. Batman Returns
Ted and Erica take on Samantha to save Lester's movie, but the battle may hurt his murder trial. Rick enlists Stuart's help when a difficult actor is arrested. In the past, the danger of going against a mob boss sends Ted to an old friend.
5. You're on Your Own
Ted and Amanda attempt to thwart the prosecutor from having Lester's wife testify. Kevin, Rick and Erica discover a problem with Lester's story.
6. Dester
Erica and Kevin keep a secret from Ted that could hinder his murder trial. With the case slipping away, Ted turns to an unlikely source to save Lester.
7. Good Times
The death of a beloved client brings Ted and Rick back together. Kevin helps Erica with a family matter. Stuart and Samantha clash over a distasteful client. Leah considers leaving the law. In the past, Ted gets news that could derail his career as a prosecutor.
8. Acapulco
In the past, Ted's mob trial case takes a bad turn, forcing him to turn to old friend Harvey Specter. Erica and Leah's clash over personal time gets the attention of the firm's new head of HR. Stuart calls in a favor from Rick to discredit a witness.
9. Bat Signal
Ted and Harvey team up to right a wrong from their past and put a monster behind bars. Stuart confronts the possibility he may have unwittingly helped a client commit a crime.
10. Slugfest
Law students Ted and Stuart’s friendship is tested when they face off in a mock trial. In the present, Stuart faces a crisis as his doubts about his client mount.
11. Tearin' Up My Heart
Ted must deliver on a request from client Patton Oswalt. Amanda turns to Erica for help defending a teen star accused of attacking her dad. Stuart’s accident sends him into a spiral. In the past, Ted and Eddie come to L.A. for Stuart’s bachelor party.
12. Angry Sylvester
Erica and Ted disagree when she tries to sign a high-profile client against his wishes. Stuart meets an unexpected adversary at anger management. Rick works to secure Dylan Pryor’s dream role.
13. Freedom
The relationships at the two firms are complicated as Ted and Samantha forces to take down Rosalyn's former boss. Erica and Rick work against each other as they finalize Dylan Pryor's deal. Stuart recruits Kevin for a special task in New York.
