‘Cobra Kai’ Season 5 Trailer Promises a War for The Soul of the Valley
The ‘Karate Kid’ spin-off sees Terry Silver’s Cobra Kai looking to consolidate its power while Daniel LaRusso and Johnny Lawrence aim to fight back.
‘Cobra Kai’ left fans with a heck of a cliffhanger at the end of Season 4. With Terry Silver (William Zabka) were left with little option but to shut their respective dojos down.
Yet as the new trailer for Season 5 shows, neither man is going down without a fight.

Yet it’s still all balanced with some fun comedy, especially in Johnny’s case. With a need to make extra cash, he’s taken to driving and delivering for Uber in true Johnny Lawrence style; rock music, fast driving and little concern for his customers’ comfort. No surprise he’s not racking up the five star reviews.
As for Daniel, he’s initially committed to shutting down his dojo and eschewing karate after the big defeat, but he’ll have help to keep the battle going – he and Johnny are really, truly finally putting their old grudge aside to really team up and there’s also another old foe, Chozen (Karate Kid II’ who has put past bad feelings aside to become a proper ally.

And it’s not just their story – there’s the likes of Miguel (Peyton List).
For her part, Tori is conflicted about her victory for Cobra Kai at the tournament and has to deal with new students and new masters at the dojo as Silver looks to expand into more of the valley – and beyond.
Daniel’s wife, Amanda, (Martin Kove’s John Kreese, sitting in prison after Silver’s betrayal, but making his own moves to get control back at Cobra Kai.
Created by Hayden Schlossberg, the show really has gone from strength to strength. Originally commissioned for YouTube’s ill-fated scripted department where it ran for two seasons, it was picked up by Netflix for the third and scored an order for Seasons four and five.
Though it had to fight the pandemic putting a crimp in its schedule, it’s back and will hopefully win a sixth run.
Season 5 of ‘Cobra Kai’ kicks its way on to Netflix on September 9th.
