2019 is off to a good start for "Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back" fans.

The 2001 comedy's star, director, and screenwriter, Jason Mewes, and wrote that the three were "the only dopes in Hollywood working on the holiday."

Ah, how times have changed. Once they were asking, "What the f--k is the internet?," and now they're using it keep fans updated on the reboot's status.

Pre-pre-production is still very early in the game, but it's clear they're eager to make the film. Smith has been talking about a reboot since 2017, as People pointed out. In August of that year, he shared that he had written a script in which Jay (Mewes) and Silent Bob (Smith) had to return to Hollywood "to stop a brand new reboot of the old 'Bluntman & Chronic' movie they hated so much."

Smith has coined 2019 the "year of the reboot," so we expect more updates about the project in the coming months.
