Anya Taylor-Joy to Star in Netflix Limited Series 'The Queen's Gambit'
Actress Split") has been busy lately, g on for buzzy projects left and right. Now, her latest role is bringing her to streaming giant Netflix.
The actress is set to star in "The Queen's Gambit," a limited series based on the 1983 Walter Tevis novel of the same name. Taylor-Joy will play Beth Harmon, an orphan and chess prodigy growing up in the Cold War era.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the drama will follow Beth "from age 8 to 22 as she struggles with addiction and goes on a quest to become the greatest chess player in the world." It will run for six episodes.
This will mark Taylor-Joy's second collaboration with Netflix, following her Scott Frank, the creator of Emmy-nominated western series "Godless," who will write, direct, and produce "The Queen's Gambit."
